"Working with Sonny to buy my first townhome in Communication Hill was such a positive experience. The entire search took about a year, and not once did Sonny make me feel rushed or pressured to make a decision. He was incredibly patient, taking me to so many showings and answering every single question I had. Sonny is extremely knowledgeable about homes and potential issues—they way he broke down repair costs and explained what was worth worrying about (and what wasn’t) really helped me feel confident throughout the process. What really stood out, though, was how Sonny’s connections and experience made such a huge difference. The home I ended up buying had multiple offers, and while ours wasn’t the strongest at first, Sonny’s relationship with the listing agent gave us a chance to improve it. Because of that, we were able to win the home. Even after closing, Sonny was so helpful, connecting me with great contractors to make some improvements. I always felt like he was genuinely looking out for my best interests, not just trying to close a deal. If you’re looking for a realtor who’s responsive, knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in helping you find the right home, I can’t recommend Sonny enough.

Sonny went above and beyond for me at all stages of the house-buying process, offering expertise far beyond that of a typical Realtor. Thanks to specific interventions he made at many steps of the process, we secured a better deal on both the house and the loan than I ever thought possible. I’d been casually looking at houses without representation for years, but was too concerned about the local market to make the leap into purchasing a house in the South Bay. Sonny took a no-pressure approach, yet spent hours answering my questions and educating me about the market – from its recent history, to the implications of macroeconomic forecasts. Instead of offering platitudes like “Real Estate is always a solid investment”, Sonny catered to my analytical background, and showed me scatterplots and descriptive statistics for the correlated risks I was concerned about. He even accounted for the effects of lagging market responses and data publication, to provide me an honest picture of the worst case historical scenario. His approach was perfectly adapted to working with my specific background, covering the mathematical details I could appreciate without getting lost in financial jargon. Of the many agents I’ve chatted with in years of visiting open houses, I can’t recall a single one who could even approach this level of quantitative market understanding, and ability to communicate it to a non-expert client. I consider myself pretty detail oriented, but when it came time to view houses, Sonny instantly spotted relevant details I hadn’t noticed after multiple viewings on my own. Where a home inspector had merely eyeballed a potential past leak, Sonny came armed with a moisture level meter to verify that it was actually an old fixed issue. Sonny spotted an amazing opportunity with a house on my shortlist, and walked me through an episode of cold feet, all without any undue pressure. We ended up getting an under-asking & under-comps offer accepted in a strong seller’s market. Once under contract, Sonny guided me through finding the best lender for the purchase. He clearly has a roster of fantastic people to work with, who made strong loan proposals on a fast timeline. When the lending bank tried to play games at the last minute, jeopardizing the closing, Sonny absolutely went to bat for me. He arranged an executive-level meeting at a major national bank within a few hours of being notified of the problem, ensuring my loan closed on time at the agreed upon rate. In the end, Sonny helped me get a house in the neighborhood I’ve been dreaming about for years, at a price point I didn’t think was possible, with a 0.75 percentage point lower interest rate loan than I went into the process expecting."
